Council Bylaws (December 2011)
December 8, 2011.

Many councils employ bylaws that make it an offence to park repeatedly in the same space when that area has a time limit. Some councils require the vehicle is removed from the area for 1 or 2 hours while others only require the vehicle is moved to another bay. All councils enforce time limits and all are conscious of motorists who "feed the meter".

Where required, iPark enforces the bylaw and won't allow repeat parking once parking has expired. Otherwise, iPark allows parking but the motorist is still liable to an infringement if the vehicle exceeds the maximum parking time displayed on the signs. iPark provides a means of paying for parking, but customers still need to comply with the parking signs and regulations in general.

More Information
For more information, refer to the bylaws themselves:

Fremantle Local Laws, Parking (2006) Section 49 ,
Subiaco Local Laws Relating to Parking, Section 2.10 ,
Bunbury Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law Section 4.9 ,

New SMS formats (April 2011)
April 15, 2011.

In response to popular demand, new, relaxed SMS parking request formats have been introduced.

No need to change what you doing, all past formats are supported. What is new are more intuitive parking requests that understand what you want. For example for all day parking you can text:

All day 1234 ABC123 where 1234 is the zone number and ABC123 is the vehicle rego.

Or 2 hours 1234 y abc123 if you need a reminder before the parking expires.

Or $4.50 1234 ABC123

iPark - making parking easier.

Small Change (December 2010)
December 7, 2010.

Customers asked why can't I pay for small parking amounts like 5 minutes or 30c?

Well now you can. Previously if the cost of the total parking charge and fees was less than $1, the system would not accept the request. The exception is clockon which will charge a mimimum of $1. Now, if you ask for 30c of parking, the system will debit your credit card $1 and credit your iPark account the remaining 70c. The amount in the iPark account is used the next time you pay for parking using iPark. All the amounts are listed on the invoice emailed each time you use iPark.

This is handy for inexpensive zones and when you only need to topup your parking.

Clockon/off now available (May 2010)
May 24, 2010.

For more information see the detailed instructions . Also, if you have need to leave your parking spot early, you can send a clockoff SMS at any time stopping the clock and the charge - even if you did not send a clockon SMS. For example, if you paid for 5 days of parking but don't need Friday, sending a clockoff SMS on Thursday evening will cancel Friday's parking and refund the balance to your iPark account. This balance will then be used the next time you pay for parking using iPark.

January 13, 2009.

The City usually raises rates at the beginning of the financial year on July 1st. iPark rates have not been raised for more than 2 years and this is a catch up. Enquires regarding the reasons and timing of the rate rise should be directed to the City on 08 9432 9999.

To download an invoice you will need to login into the members area with your mobile number of PIN. An invoice button is available next to transactions in the current parking, parking history and credit card transaction journal (display journal) pages.

Email addresses are now optional for non-corporate (private) customers. If you do not want invoices emailed to you, simply remove the email address from your registration details.

Subiaco Parking Rate Rise (July 2008)
The City of Subiaco has introduced changes to the rates in all Subiaco car parks effective July 1, 2008.

In zones 6419 and 6429 on Roberts Rd, the all day parking cap of $5 has been removed and the rate now is $1/hour. While the ticket machines and signs are being updated, there are still signs that display a $5/day rate.

Bunbury Parking Rate Rise (June 2008)
The City of Bunbury has introduced changes to the rates in all Bunbury car parks effective June 1, 2008. While cash machines went up from 60 to 80 cents/hour, the City set new iPark rates also. They are listed below.

Blair St - Upper car park - Hourly rate will remain the same at 50 cents/hour. Daily rate changes from $2.50 to $3.60.

Zoe Street Car park - Hourly rate changes from 20 cents/hour to 40 cents/hour. Daily rate changes from $1.00 to $1.40.

All other Council car parks - Hourly rate will remain the same at 40 cents/hour. Daily rate changes from $2.50 to $3.60.

When you consider that the normal hourly charge for car parking is 80 cents/hour the iPark rate of 40 or 50 cents/hour is a considerable discount - almost 50%.

For further information regarding car park fees please contact the City on 9792 7000.

Parking request via the web (April 2008)
Now you can register your parking by logging into the iPark web site at
www.cashlessparking.com.au using your mobile number and PIN. Then click on Parking -> request, enter the zone number and parking duration. The duration is the same format as for the SMS parking request. You can even request an SMS reminder be sent 10 minutes prior to the parking expiring.

New SMS parking request format (December 2007)
Now instead of using the vehicle registration, all SMS parking requests need to specify the 8 digit barcode on the windscreen sticker. NOT as per the instructions on the windscreen sticker (see image below left). Requests with regos are still being honoured where possible, but will be phased out. The benefit for customers is that they do not need to register all their vehicle details on the web site to use the system. All that is required to use iPark is a credit card, email address, mobile phone and a windscreen sticker. Stickers are available free in several locations.

Duration Zone Barcode

The Duration tells us how long you want to park in hours and minutes. For example;

1h for 1 hour,
30m for 30 minutes,
1H30m or 90M for 1 hour 30 minutes,
# for all day parking (up to midnight),
* for all week parking for today plus 6 more days so that parking will end on midnight on the 7th day.

For example, sending 1h 6432 67121234

will have iPark register 1 hour's parking in zone 6432 for vehicle with a windscreen sticker of barcode 67121234

The Zone number should be the 4 digit number displayed on the parking signs. The barcode should just contain the 8 digit number displayed on the vehicle's windscreen sticker.

Instant Registration (December 2007)
IPark has been trialling instant registration for some time. Now with free windscreen stickers available in several central Bunbury locations, customers can register themselves and start using iPark immediately.

Pay As You Go (PAYG) replaces pre-paid (November 2007)
Parking transactions were paid by credit card in the past by moving funds from the credit card account to an iPark pre-paid account. Now instead of holding these funds on behalf of the customer, all parking transactions are now debited to the credit card in real-time.

The benefit for our customers is that you don't need to keep topping up your account or have money sitting in an unused iPark account. If you haven't already registered your credit card details, then you will need to do this on our secure website before once your funds have been used up. Login to the web site by entering your mobile number and PIN to access and edit your account details. iPark guarantees the security of customer's credit card details held by iPark. Contact iPark on 1300 727 513 for more details.

New windscreen stickers (October 2007)
All iPark customers have been sent new plastic windscreen stickers. These state of the art stickers replace current stickers. They have better adhesion and use RFID technology to assist authorities scanning the stickers.

All customers need to have the new sticker on their windscreens to avoid the risk of an infringement. The old stickers are now invalid.

To fit the new windscreen stickers, please note the plain paper paper backing must be peeled off to reveal the adhesive side. The adhesive side is the image on the top left.

For corporate customers we have card holders available. They attach to the windscreen and the "sticker" can be inserted and removed at any time. The stickers can then be moved between vehicles allowing them to be issued to individuals and saves on stickers when the vehicles are sold.

Moving office (February 2007)
iPark is moving to a new office in Osborne Park.
